AI for travel that drafts the quote while you talk to the traveller.
In travel, the time goes into quotes, questions and changes: building an itinerary from rates and distances, answering the same pre-trip questions in several languages, confirming what changed. We build AI for tour operators, travel agencies and lodges that prepares that work from your own files and answers on WhatsApp — and leaves the advice to your people.

What we have actually built in travel
One demo so far, for a safari operator — so this page says what we would build, and shows the project it comes from.

A quote assistant for a safari tour operator
A tour operator's consultants build every itinerary quote by hand from years of spreadsheets. We built a demo that reads those files as they are — price list, lodges and sites, contacts, driving distances — and turns them into a searchable catalogue with suggestions by distance; the next step drafts the costing sheet and the quote document for a consultant to check.
- Reads the operator's own spreadsheets directly — nothing to re-enter
- Every price in a draft traced back to its line in the price list
- Works by message and e-mail, for teams on the road with a weak connection
- Never contacts a traveller: the consultant sends the quote
Where AI earns its place in a travel business
Quote drafting
A trip request becomes a draft itinerary and costing, built from your own price lists, supplier rates and distance tables — every price traceable to its source line.
Pre-trip concierge
A WhatsApp assistant that answers what is included, what to pack and where to meet from your own trip documents, in the language the traveller writes in, and hands anything unusual to a consultant.
Enquiry triage
Incoming e-mails and messages sorted by trip, date and urgency, with a reply drafted for the consultant — so the enquiry of the day is answered while the traveller is still comparing.
Changes and confirmations
When a lodge, flight time or pick-up changes, the right travellers get a clear message and the change is logged against the booking.
Supplier catalogue
Lodges, activities, guides and rates from years of spreadsheets in one searchable catalogue, with suggestions by distance and season.
Multilingual content
Trip pages and day-by-day itineraries written in several languages from one source, checked by someone who knows the route.
Start where the hours go
- 01
Pick the quote
If consultants spend most of their day assembling quotes, start with one trip type and let the assistant draft it from your files.
- 02
Prove it blind
Regenerate a real past quote from the original request and compare it line by line with what the team sent.
- 03
Then the questions
Once quotes are trusted, add the pre-trip assistant on WhatsApp, fed with your own travel documents.
Rules that apply to travel AI
Travellers' passport details, health information and payment data are personal data under the GDPR in Europe, POPIA in South Africa and similar laws elsewhere; an assistant should see only what it needs and keep it where the law says. Package-travel rules in many countries make the organiser responsible for what was sold, so prices and conditions in a quote must come from the operator, never be improvised by a model.
On WhatsApp, a business can reply freely within the customer service window, but messages it starts must use templates approved by Meta — see our note on WhatsApp Business API pricing.

Frequently asked questions
How can travel companies use AI?
To draft itineraries and costings from their own rate files, answer travellers' pre-trip questions on WhatsApp in their language, triage enquiries with a reply drafted for the consultant, and send confirmations when something changes.
Has Takat worked with travel companies?
We built a quote-assistant demo for a safari tour operator in Namibia, which reads the operator's own spreadsheets. What else is on this page is what we would build, using capabilities running in our other projects.
Will the AI send quotes to travellers on its own?
Not in what we build: the assistant drafts, with every price traced to its source, and a consultant checks and sends.
